The Incredible Alaska King Salmon!

Known for its trophy-size Alaska king salmon is the salmon of the trophy seekeras well as the thrill of a lifetime catch. The Kenai River sports two runs of these huge fish. The first begins in mid-May and the second, in early July, runs through the season ending July 31st. On May 17, 1985, a 97 lb. Alaska king salmon was landed and still holds the current world record. Kenai king salmon average 30 to 60 pounds with many 60 to 80 pounders taken in a fishing season. We fish for Kenai King Salmon by back trolling either with eggs or quick fish. The Kenai River King Salmon are trophy fish, so you are fishing for quality, not quantity. The limit is one per day, two per season.

Anglers Lodge is a beautiful place with top notch gear and pleasant folks. We will highly recommended you to anyone who asks if we know of a good lodge where they might catch a fish or two.

The guides take you to the ‘right’ places and without them we would not have managed to take home over 200 pounds of fish!
