Fishing For Those Exciting Alaska Red Salmon
When the Alaska sockeye or red salmon hit the Kenai River in mid-July, fishing fever hits the Kenai Peninsula. These ocean-fresh Alaska salmon are great eating and provide great bank fishing and after-hours fun at our Alaska fishing lodge. Sockeye have been in the Kenai as early as the 4th of July and as late as the 5th of August. We are never sure just when they will hit the river but you are you lucky enough to be here when they come you will enjoy trying your hand with the Sockeye fishing. Sockeye do not bite, so you have to catch them in the mouth with a hook by feel.  Red salmon are found in the water about 3 to 10 feet from the bank, depending on the water speed and depth.  There is no need for you to cast, and no need to be in past your ankles.  Simply pull out some line and flip your hook up stream, let it drift, and set the hook.

Testimonials

Marlene & Roger, I want to thank you for the true fishing trip of a life time! You made us feel at home immediately upon arriving and I can honestly say all of our expectations were exceeded. My trip was complete on the very first day when Aaron said, FISH ON! My first King Salmon, a 48lb. beauty! My nephew’s 35lb. King was exciting as well.I must tell you that I recommended Anglers Lodge before returning home. I met a gentleman at the Portland airport, who was from London and he asked about our trip. I gave him your brochure and highly recommended he book a trip. I planned this as my trip of a lifetime however; now I plan this to be an annual trip.

In my opinion the Anglers Lodge experience is the very best on The Kenai Peninsula. Thank You again and I look forward to returning.

Best Regards,

Roger & Ty

The guides take you to the ‘right’ places and without them we would not have managed to take home over 200 pounds of fish!
